9/11 Museum & Memorial Tour
& Box Lunch, Included
New York City, New York
Today’s day trip is to the 9/11 Memorial Museum, which was recently completed and opened to the public in 2014. The National September 11 Memorial Museum is an educational and historical institution honoring the nearly 3,000 people killed in the terror attacks of September 11, 2001 and serves as the country’s principal institution for examining the implications of the events of 9/11, documenting the impact of those events and exploring the continuing significance of September 11, 2001. The Museum’s 110,000 square feet of exhibition space is located within the archaeological heart of the World Trade Center site. The story of 9/11 is experienced through multimedia displays, archives, narratives and a collection of monumental and authentic artifacts which allow the viewer to understand what happened on 9/11, how people responded in the aftermath of the attacks, and the history and rebuilding of the World Trade Center. Time is allowed for you to visit The Memorial also. The Memorial encompasses two reflecting pools which consist of 52,000 gallons of water cycling through the pools every minute and features the victim’s names etched in bronze on the Memorial pools. A box lunch is included today. Please provide a meal choice when making your reservations. Your choices are Ham Club Wrap, Turkey Club Wrap, Chicken Salad Wrap or Veggie Wrap. A rest stop will be made en route to New York City, and a fast food stop will be made on the return trip home. (L)
