Day 1
Welcome Aboard! Travel in comfort aboard our deluxe motor coach as we depart on a great get-away adventure to the westernmost part of Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast – Pensacola, Florida. Before checking into our hotel in Greenville, South Carolina for the night, we are treated to a delicious dinner at a local restaurant. (D)
Day 2
After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for Atlanta, Georgia. Upon our arrival, we visit The Margaret Mitchell House and Museum, the birthplace of Gone With The Wind. This 2-block site features a movie museum, a historical house, the apartment where Margaret Mitchell lived and wrote the Pulitzer-Prize winning novel, Gone With The Wind, 3 galleries of changing exhibits and a gift shop. Following our tour we will visit Mary Mac’s Tea Room for a delicious lunch. Here we will enjoy wonderful authentic southern fare, made-from-scratch and served with genuine southern hospitality. Following lunch settle back, relax and enjoy the scenery on our drive south toward the beautiful beaches of Pensacola Beach, Florida. Upon our arrival we check into our oceanfront accommodations at the Springhill Suites Pensacola Beach for the next three nights. Tonight, we are treated to a delicious dinner at a local restaurant. Day 3
After a buffet breakfast we meet our step-on guide, and depart for a day of sightseeing including; Blue Angels Practice Show, the Naval Air Station and Historic Downtown Pensacola. See how Pensacola has preserved its rich and colorful past from the 16th-century Spanish colony to the natural history of the Gulf Islands National Seashore to the Space Age technology of naval aviation. The National Naval Aviation Museum, one of the 3 largest aviation museums in the world, showcases over 130 beautifully restored aircraft. Following a tasty lunch we depart on a riding tour of 3 historic districts that highlights the Creole cottages of the Seville Square district, the Victorian mansions of North Hill and turn-of-the-20th century restored downtown Pensacola. Next enjoy Veterans Memorial Park which includes memorials to those who died serving their country in 20th-century wars. Tonight, join your fellow travelers for a buffet dinner and rousing Dueling Pianos Show at Seville Quarter. Located in a historic entertainment complex, this evening’s spirited entertainment features songs that encourage audience participation! (B, L, D)
Day 4
After a buffet breakfast we join our Captain and Crew on board the “Portofino I”, for a 2 hour dolphin watch cruise on Northwest Florida’s Gulf Coast. We cruise along the beautiful Santa Rosa Sound and Gulf Islands National Seashore, and catch sight of these playful creatures from the comfort of our 63’ open-air, covered catamaran. This unique cruise experience offers you the opportunity to encounter dolphins, birds and other marine life that make their home along the protected Gulf Islands National Seashore. Following our cruise we return to our hotel where you are free to design the rest of your day and do as you wish! Be adventurous and stroll the cobblestone streets of Pensacola’s downtown historic district and the unique restaurants, theaters, museums and galleries. Remember the hotel is conveniently located just a short walking distance from the sandy shores and warm waters of the Gulf Coast, so enjoy a walk on the beach, dig your toes in the sand, swim in the Gulf of Mexico or one of the hotel’s three beachfront pools, or you can savor the view from your beachfront pool deck, enjoy the Tiki Bar and many beachfront activities. End your day with an ice cold cocktail at the Tiki Bar, where the sunsets make every sip even better! Tonight, dinner is on your own. (B)
Day 5
After a buffet breakfast we depart for Montgomery, Alabama and The Hank Williams Museum. Enjoy a self-guided tour of the museums extensive collection of Hank Williams’ memorabilia. The collection allows you to experience the history and lasting legacy of Country Music’s first superstar. See how Hank Williams transformed country music and sowed the seeds of what was to become American Music, Blues, Rockabilly and even Rock and Roll. Following our tour we depart for our overnight accommodations in Greenville, South Carolina. A dinner stop will be made en route to Greenville. (B, D)
Day 6
After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for home taking with us sunny memories of a magnificent Gulf Coast vacation get-away! (B)
