It meant the holiday season was fast approaching and the anticipation of all the fun things the season would bring, including decorating for Christmas, opening Christmas presents with friends and family, the annual New Year’s Eve party, Elvis’ birthday, building snowmen in the front yard of Graceland and so much more! Join us and experience the magic of Elvis and Graceland this holiday season! We’ve also included a visit to Dollywood as part of this yuletide adventure! Don’t miss this tour!
Day 1
Welcome Aboard! Join us for a fun-filled motor coach vacation full of spectacular scenery, holiday cheer and yuletide spirit in the “Birthplace of Rock and Roll,” Memphis, Tennessee. Before checking into our hotel in Knoxville, Tennessee for the night, we are treated to a delicious dinner at a local restaurant. (D)
Day 2
After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for Nashville, Tennessee and the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. Upon our arrival, enjoy a leisurely self-guided tour of this Nashville landmark under its majestic, climate-controlled glass atriums, surrounded by nine acres of lush indoor gardens, winding rivers and pathways, and sparkling waterfalls. Delight in exploring this extraordinary hotel and create unique holiday memories while you marvel at the splendor and elaborate holiday décor surrounding you. Our visit includes a Delta River Flatboat ride on the scenic indoor river. Following a delicious lunch we depart for Horn Lake, Mississippi and the Drury Inn & Suites, our hotel accommodations for the next two nights. A refrigerator and microwave are provided in your hotel room. Each evening from 5:30 to 7:00 P.M., the Drury Inn & Suites hosts a Manager’s Reception with free hot food & cold beverages for guests, including beer, wine and mixed drinks. (B, L)
Day 3
After a deluxe continental breakfast we meet our step-on guide, and depart for a tour of Memphis. Highlights of our tour include photo-stops along the Mississippi River and Mud Island River Park, (a public park and a recreational area created as a tribute to the mighty Mississippi River) and the March of the famous Peabody Ducks. After our tour we will visit world famous Beale Street. Beale Street is home to an exciting nightclub scene offering great live music, restaurants, theatres, boutiques and much, much more! The next stop of the day will be a visit to Graceland, all decked out in yuletide finery for the holidays. Highlights of our Graceland tour include visiting Elvis Presley’s mansion, his original business office, his trophy building, and the Meditation Garden where Elvis and members of his family have been laid to rest. We conclude our tour of Graceland by boarding Elvis’ private jet, “The Lisa Marie”. During the holiday season, the tour of Graceland is extra special with the interior and exterior of the mansion decorated for the holidays! See traditional lights and decorations including hundreds of blue lights along the driveway, a life-size Nativity scene, Santa and his sleigh and much more originally displayed by Elvis. The interior of Graceland mansion is decked out in Christmas décor and includes his traditional red velvet drapes and Presley family Christmas artifacts on display.
Before returning to our hotel, we are treated to a traditional Memphis barbecue buffet dinner at Central BBQ and a driving tour of Starry Nights. Starry Nights is a spectacular display of more than 2.5 million lights that illuminate the night sky in the largest holiday light show and festival in the Mid-South. (B, D)
Day 4
After a deluxe continental breakfast settle back, relax and enjoy the mountain scenery on our drive to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Pigeon Forge is the home of exciting live music shows ranging from country to bluegrass, and gospel to old-time rock ‘n roll. Before checking into the Hampton Inn & Suites, our hotel for the next two nights, we are treated to a delicious dinner at the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant. (B, D)
Day 5
After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for Dollywood to experience a Smoky Mountain Christmas. It’s a winter wonderland of spectacular holiday shows, old-time crafts and festive holiday foods. You are sure to create countless pleasant holiday memories enjoying this mixture of fun, friendly folks and terrific Christmas displays constructed with more than 4,000,000 sparkling lights. Dinner is on your own at Dollywood. Tonight, en route back to our hotel we enjoy a driving tour of Pigeon Forge’s Winterfest, a variety of Christmas lights and displays. (B)
Day 6
After a deluxe continental breakfast settle back and enjoy a holiday movie on our drive home, while reminiscing about Christmas at Graceland’s spectacular yuletide displays and Pigeon Forge’s joyous sounds of holiday music! Happy Holidays! (B)
