Amish Christmas Celebration
Lancaster County, PA
Today’s day trip features a special triple-header
adventure consisting of 3 places that are fun, affordable, and all located in
the Amish Country! First we will visit the Choo Choo Barn, located in
Strasburg, Pennsylvania. See Lancaster County in miniature on a 1,700
square feet layout with over 150 hand-built animated figures and 22 operating
trains. Be on the look out for the train on the roof! At our next stop in
Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania enjoy a wonderful Amish Christmas feast,
and find out how Amish gatherings compare to the celebrations of their “English”
neighbors. Discover more about the traditions and lifestyle of the Amish, such
as the practice of 2nd Christmas, Amish family holiday games and the
presentation of special children’s Christmas programs. Later create a
mystery gift to take home with you. We conclude our day in Paradise,
Pennsylvania with a visit to the National Christmas Center before
departing for home. Take a self-guided tour through the center
and discover the whimsy and fantasy, the magic and memories, and the history and
