Ohio River Cruise

from Steubenville to Pittsburgh

Day 1: Welcome Aboard!  Travel in comfort aboard our deluxe motor coach to the “Mountain State,” West Virginia.  Our first stop is at the lovely Wilson Lodge in Wheeling, West Virginia for a delicious luncheon. Following lunch we depart for a self-guided tour of the Oglebay Mansion Museum and its beautiful grounds.  Originally the home of Colonel Oglebay and his family, the mansion is furnished with many period antiques that create an atmosphere that takes you back in time and history.  Next we visit the Glass Museum which exhibits over 3,000 examples of West Virginia glass made from 1829-1939.  Later we return to the famous Wilson Lodge and check into our accommodations for the night.  Tonight we are treated to a delicious dinner at the lodge.  After dinner enjoy a good nights rest in preparation for a big day tomorrow.  (L, D)

Day 2: After a buffet breakfast we depart for Steubenville, Ohio.  Upon our arrival in Steubenville we board the Gateway Clipper, an authentic riverboat, for a 9-hour cruise on the Ohio River from Steubenville to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  While on board, sit back, relax and take in the beautiful landscape and fall colors along the banks of the Ohio River.  Entertainment and on board games throughout the day are included for you to enjoy.  Today both lunch and dinner will be served on board the cruise.  This evening after the Gateway Clipper docks we depart for our hotel accommodations for the night in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania(B, L, D)

Day 3: After a deluxe continental breakfast we meet our step-on guide, and depart for a tour of Pittsburgh.  We begin our tour at The Nationality Rooms at the University of Pittsburgh, located in the inspiring Cathedral of Learning on the Pit campus.  Each of the 26 classrooms reflects the culture and heritage of one of the area’s diverse ethnic groups, and represents that nationality’s contribution to the fabric of Pittsburgh.  Next we conclude our tour by riding on the Duquesne Incline to the top of Mt. Washington.  There you will be thrilled by the amazing panoramic view of downtown Pittsburgh!  Following lunch on your own we depart for home reminiscing about our spectacular fall get-away and grand adventure on the Ohio River!  (B)
