Day 1: Welcome Aboard!  New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island combine to create a coastal holiday filled with charm and serenity.  Plus, you will enjoy a marvelous two night stay at one of Canada’s most treasured hotels, the luxurious Rodd Charlottetown.  We overnight in South Portland, Maine, where we are treated to a delicious dinner at the hotel.  (D)             

 

Day 2: After a buffet breakfast we depart for Moncton, New Brunswick.  Upon our arrival we visit Magnetic Hill, Canada’s third most visited natural attraction.  Our driver will take his foot off the brake and you will be amazed as our motor coach rolls uphill without the aid of an engine.  Is it real or an illusion?  You be the judge.  Later we are treated to a delicious dinner at the Wharf Village Restaurant, before checking into our hotel for the night.  (B, D)   

 

Day 3: After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for the famed Hopewell Rocks.  Hopewell Rocks is where you’ll find world famous flowerpot rock formations sculpted by the highest tides in the world.  Depending on tide times, you can explore quiet coves from the ocean floor with flowerpot-shaped rock formations bearing such curious names as ‘Mother-in-Law,’ ‘ET,’ and ‘Lover’s Arch’ or experience the wonder of nature as 100-billion tonnes of salt-water slowly fills the Bay of Fundy.  Following a delicious lunch we depart for Halifax, Nova Scotia.  We check into the Cambridge Suites Hotel for the next two nights.  The hotel is located close to historic Citadel Hill in the heart of downtown Halifax.  Enjoy a delicious dinner on your own at one of the many restaurants that are within walking distance of our hotel.  (B, L)            

 

Day 4: After a deluxe continental breakfast we meet our step-on guide, and depart for a narrated driving tour of Halifax.  The tour will include the Public Gardens, the Halifax waterfront, and historic downtown.  Our tour also includes a visit to the Titanic gravesite where you will learn about the important role that Halifax played in the rescue of Titanic survivors during the tragic event.  Later we tour the historic Citadel, Nova Scotia’s 19th-century fort perched high on a hill overlooking Halifax Harbor.  Following our tour, we depart for one of the most picturesque spots in all of Nova Scotia, Peggy’s Cove.  This unique and beautiful fishing village located on Nova Scotia’s eastern seaboard is home to a stunning lighthouse that sits atop wave-washed rocks.  Bring your camera for some spectacular photo opportunities!  Before heading back to Halifax, we are treated to a delicious lunch at a popular local restaurant.  Dinner is on your own(B, L)            

 

Day 5: After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for Caribou, Nova Scotia where we will travel by ferry to the land known as “the island cradled in the waves,” Prince Edward Island.  After checking into the luxurious Rodd Charlottetown for the next two nights, we are treated to a delicious dinner at the hotel’s restaurant.  Located in the heart of downtown, the hotel is conveniently located within easy walking distance to many shops and restaurants.  (B, D)  

 

Day 6: After a buffet breakfast we meet our step-on guide, and depart for a narrated driving tour of Prince Edward Island.  The tour will include a visit to Anne of Green Gables National Park, the house Lucy Maud Montgomery lived, and upon which she based her acclaimed book, “Anne of Green Gables.”  Next we head to the picturesque beaches of Cavendish National Park, and visit a wharf in Rustico famous for its fishing boats and lobster traps.  Later we return to the hotel where you will have some leisure time to explore downtown Charlottetown, and browse its gift shops, boutiques, galleries and restaurants.  Dinner is on your own at one of the many restaurants that is within walking distance of the hotel.  (B)  

 

Day 7: After a buffet breakfast we cross the Confederation Bridge, the longest span bridge in the Western Hemisphere, which links this part of Canada to the United States.  We overnight in South Portland, Maine, where we are treated to a delicious dinner at the hotel.  (B, D) 

 

Day 8: After a buffet breakfast we depart for home taking with us many pleasant memories of our Canadian maritime holiday.  (B)
