“Labor Day” Weekend Get-Away

NASCAR fans and racing enthusiast you asked for it so here it is . . . we are off to Charlotte, North Carolina to enjoy a weekend in NASCAR Country!   

Day 1: Start Your Engines!  Travel in comfort aboard our deluxe motor coach to the heart of NASCAR country, Charlotte, North Carolina.  We check into our first class accommodations at the Sheraton Charlotte Hotel, for the next two nights.  Bring your bathing suit and take advantage of the hotel’s spa, fitness center and outdoor/indoor pool.  Enjoy dinner on your own at the hotel’s restaurant at your leisure.           

Day 2: After a deluxe buffet breakfast, at your leisure, we depart for the NASCAR Hall of Fame.  Recognized as a world class museum, this state-of-the-art facility that honors past, present and future NASCAR icons, creating an enduring tribute to the drivers, crew members, team owners and others who have impacted the sport.  This museum is a must see for all fans of NASCAR!  A box lunch will be included with a souvenir Hall of Fame cooler bag.  Next we tour the Charlotte Motor Speedway for a behind-the-scenes tour of what it takes to stage a major NASCAR event.  You’ll see the infield hospital, Cup garages, and hear the history of the track.  You’ll even take a victory lap around the 1.5 mile oval on board our deluxe motor coach.  After leaving the Charlotte Motor Speedway, we depart for a driving tour of Kannapolis, North Carolina.  Hear stories about Dale Earnhardt, Sr., his boyhood and his amazing rise to legendary driver status.  See hometown tributes dedicated to him located downtown and ride by his boyhood home.  Next we will visit Curb Motorsports and Museum to see, among other historical race cars, the car in which Dale won his very first championship in 1980.  We’ll conclude our day of touring with a visit to Concord Mills Mall, the number one tourist destination in North Carolina.  Enjoy dinner on your own as you explore seven different neighborhoods of stores featuring 200 plus stores.  Later we return to our hotel for a good night’s rest.  (B, L)    

Day 3: After a deluxe buffet breakfast we depart for home taking with us NASCAR souvenirs, and vivid memories of NASCAR Country!  (B)
