Today we travel to Lancaster County,
Pennsylvania for an unique and very upscale “Progressive Dine-Around”
tour which will combine great food, and wine with amazing chef
demonstrations interpreters and history! We begin at Landis Valley Museum &
Village, considered by many to be the “best kept secret in Pennsylvania.”
The museum is the largest “living history” village in the country dedicated to
the total preservation of early Pennsylvania German life. Enjoy a horse
drawn wagon ride through the village and step inside historical buildings
filled with costumed actors and craftsmen. Here you’ll be treated to
home-made sticky buns, apple snitz & apple cider, served in the original
1856 Landis Valley House Hotel. Next we continue on to the Plain &
Fancy Farm Restaurant where you will enjoy a traditional Pennsylvania
Dutch family-style meal, followed by a demonstration on how
Amish-style soft pretzels are made. We move on to the Twin Brook Winery
for a tour of this picturesque estate winery, which includes the
beautifully restored 19th century barn housing their state-of-the-art
wine making facility and rustically elegant tasting room. Samplesome
wonderful local wines, cheese and crackers, and chocolate. We conclude our
day at Huckleberry’s Restaurant at the Fulton Steamboat Inn. You
will feel like you just stepped onto an old-fashioned river boat when you enter
this unique restaurant featuring casual dining with exceptional service. Enjoy
another chef demonstration and the dessertportion of your
progressive meal before departing for home.
