Today we head to the York County, Pennsylvania
area for a day of 50’s era fun and a Reverse Progressive Luncheon.
First we visit the Haines Shoe House. Tour this unique “shoe-shaped”
building which was a popular honeymoon spot in the 1950’s and enjoy a root
beer float dessert. Next we head to the San Carlo’s and the HOP!
The restaurant has a vintage 50’s Chevy on the roof and Dodge inside where
you’ll do “The Twist” and enjoy a hoola hoop contest and your luncheon. After lunch we visit Brown’s Orchard & Farm
Market, nestled among the rolling hills and green valleys of Southern York
County. At this unique country market you will find a wide variety of locally
grown fruits and vegetables and much, much more all under one roof. Bring along
a cooler and take home some Pennsylvania Dutch foods, fresh baked breads, meats,
soups, and salads made fresh daily. Before departing for home, we conclude our
day at Naylor Wine Cellars for a guided tour of the winery,
followed by a tasting of selected Naylor wines and 50’s-inspired
appetizers.
