Travel with Gunther Tours to the Alamo City for the 120th anniversary of Fiesta San Antonio! Fiesta was originally began in 1891 to honor the heroes of the Battles of the Alamo and San Jacinto. Today’s Fiesta San Antonio features more than 100 exciting events, and serves as a showcase for San Antonio’s rich multicultural heritage. With parades, festivals, exhibits, athletic activities, live music and dancing, delicious food and beverages, there’s something for every taste! Don’t miss this tour!

Day 1: Welcome Aboard! Travel in comfort aboard our deluxe motor coach towards “The Lone Star State,” Texas. We will overnight in Knoxville, Tennessee. A dinner stop will be made en route to Knoxville, included. (D)
                              
Day 2: After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for Memphis, Tennessee, the home of the blues, and Graceland. Highlights of our Graceland tour include visiting Elvis Presley’s mansion, his original business office, his trophy building, and the Meditation Garden where Elvis and members of his family have been laid to rest. We conclude our tour of Graceland by boarding Elvis’ private jet, The Lisa Marie. Before checking into our hotel for the night, we conclude our day with a delicious southern-style dinner at Elvis’ Chrome Grille, an automotive-theme atmosphere restaurant located at Graceland. We overnight in Horn Lake, Mississippi. (B, D)
 
Day 3: After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for Little Rock, Arkansas. Upon our arrival we will visit the William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Library & Museum on the banks of the Arkansas River. The visit will include a self-guided tour of the museum. The library chronicles American history at the turn of the 21st century, and features exhibits that give a first hand look at the Clinton presidency. After our tour we depart for our hotel for the next two nights in Irving, Texas. A dinner stop will be made en route to Irving, included. (B, D)
 
 
Day 4: After a deluxe continental breakfast we meet our step-on guide, and depart for a narrated driving tour of Dallas. Our tour will include the Kennedy Memorial and Assassination Site, the Sixth Floor Exhibit, which is a pictorial history of the life and legacy of the President, the Arts District, and the beautiful bronze life size sculptures of Texas Long Horn Steers and Cowboys. After lunch on your own we continue on to Arlington, Texas for a tour of the premiere Dallas Cowboys Stadium, (areas to be determined). Note: The stadium tours are not guaranteed, but instead are dependent upon stadium events scheduling. Later we make the short drive to Fort Worth, Texas and the Stockyards National Historic District where the spirit of the Old West still thrives. See a Texas Longhorn cattle drive down Exchange Avenue, and later enjoy a delicious dinner at one of Fort Worth’s popular local steak restaurants. (B, D)
 
Day 5: After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for Austin, Texas and the Austin Duck Adventures. We will embark on a 75-minute tour traveling onboard a Hydra Terra amphibious vehicle, which will take you through the city of Austin before splashing down into beautiful Lake Austin, on what is certainly the most unique riding tour of the capital of Texas! After our tour we depart for our San Antonio, Texas hotel for the next three nights. The hotel is conveniently located on the Historic River Walk. Tonight a delicious dinner is included, followed by a relaxing canal ride on one of the “Fiesta” barges. Sit back and relax as you travel up the river passing sidewalk cafes, cabarets, boutiques, and hotels that line the famous San Antonio River Walk. The canal ride will acquaint you with the areas of the River Walk that you can walk to. (B, D)
 
Day 6: After a deluxe continental breakfast we meet our step-on guide, and depart for a narrated driving tour of San Antonio. Highlights of our tour include visiting the San Jose Mission, built in 1777, and once occupied by over 300 people. The Spanish and Moorish design is reflected in the Cathedral and surrounding buildings. Next visit the Market Square where you can shop for gifts and souvenirs. Later more of San Antonio’s rich history is discovered at the “The Alamo,” where in 1836 Davey Crockett, Jim Bowie, and 185 Texans stood off Dictator Santa Anna and 5,000 Mexican troops. “Remember the Alamo!” Finally we visit the city’s King William District, before a delicious dinner is included at a popular local restaurant, followed by reserved seating for the River Parade. Day 7: After a deluxe continental breakfast you are free to design your day and do as you wish! So, pick up a schedule of the “Fiesta” events at the hotel information desk, and build your adventure as you experience the entertainment, restaurants, shops, and museums all conveniently located within walking distance of the hotel. (B)
 
Day 8: After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for Houston, Texas. Upon our arrival we will tour the Space Center Houston. We’ll go behind the scenes on the NASA Tram Tour and you will have the opportunity to get an up close look at real NASA facilities! Note: The buildings visited on the tram tour are real working areas of Johnson Space Center and are subject to close without notice. Therefore, highlights of our behind-the-scenes journey may include visiting the Historic Mission Control Center, the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility or the current Mission Control Center. You may even get to see astronauts training for upcoming missions! A lunch is included at the museum. After our tour we depart for our hotel for the night in Lafayette, Louisiana. A dinner stop will be made en route to Lafayette. Dinner is on your own. (B, L)
 
Day 9: After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for New Orleans, Louisiana. Upon our arrival we will meet our step-on guide for our “Hurricane Katrina Tour.” First we will learn about the history of the original city and the world famous French Quarter. The tour will take us past a levee that “breached”, and we will see the resulting devastation that displaced hundreds of thousands of New Orleans residents. We will travel through neighborhoods such as Lakeview, Gentilly, New Orleans East, and the lower Ninth Ward. We will also ride past the colorful homes of “Musicians’ Village” being constructed by Habitat for Humanity in the upper Ninth Ward. In the afternoon you will have leisure time to explore this unique and fascinating city on your own. Before checking into our hotel for the night, we conclude our day with a delicious dinner served up in the French Quarter at The New Orleans School of Cooking. (B, D)
 
Day 10: After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for “The Volunteer State,” Tennessee. We overnight in Chattanooga, Tennessee. A dinner stop will be made en route to Chattanooga, included. (B, D)     
 
Day 11: After a deluxe continental breakfast we take a ride on “America’s Most Amazing Mile”, The Incline Railroad. Sit back, relax and enjoy as the Incline Railroad climbs historic Lookout Mountain and Chattanooga’s surrounding mountains and valleys come alive. Next we continue on to Sweetwater, Tennessee and The Lost Sea Adventure, America’s Largest Underground Lake! Upon our arrival your Lost Sea adventure begins with a guided tour of the caverns. This involves a ¾ mile round trip walk on wide sloping pathways. While touring the caverns and underground lake, your guides will detail the cavern’s exciting, colorful history, and will explain the fascinating geological development that created the immense cavern rooms and rare formations. At the bottom of the cave you will board a glass-bottom boat for an exciting trip on the Lost Sea. The boat ride offers you the chance to view the large collection of rare anthodites, more commonly known as “Cave Flowers”. After our tour we depart for our hotel for the night in Wytheville, Virginia. A dinner stop will be made en route to Wytheville, included. (B, D)
 
Day 12: After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for home taking with us many fond memories and souvenirs from our “Fiesta” tour get-away. (B)
