Begin your day at Johannson’s Dining House,
located on Westminster’s quaint Main Street. Here start your dining adventure
by enjoying a fresh salad. Next we ride through Uniontown, a
one-street village frozen in time, en route to Taneytown, Maryland.
Passing through Uniontown you will see the post office, country store, one-room
schoolhouse and beautiful private homes with their charming architecture. Once
in historic Taneytown we visit the Antrim 1844 Country Inn. The Inn has
been carefully restored in award-winning style and spirit of antebellum
elegance. So relax and enjoy a delicious entrée served in this restored
plantation setting. Now imagine rural farm life in the 19th century
as we arrive at the Carroll County Farm Museum in Westminster.
Visit the main house and grounds and later take a stroll in the old-fashioned
garden. In the old dormitory building you can view craft demonstrations that
may include pottery, wood carving or quilting. For tea and dessert
we conclude today’s dining adventure at Gypsy’s Tearoom, located in
the historic Winchester Country Inn. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop
located on the second floor, before we depart for home.
Note: Please wear comfortable shoes, (no
