Historic Churches of Baltimore
Baltimore, MD

Today’s day trip features a special guided tour of three unique churches located in the city of Baltimore! We start our day with a visit to the Lovely Lane United Methodist Church. For 118 years, Lovely Lane has been a beacon of hope on the corner of 22nd and Saint Paul Street. This magnificently restored church was built on a strong foundation of faith, and that sentiment is echoed in the stories that fill every corner and curve of this historic structure. Our tour continues with a visit to the newly restored Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption. The Basilica is the first cathedral built in the United States, and is the mother church of Catholicism in the nation. Next we enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at the Rusty Scupper Restaurant, a downtown waterfront restaurant with a spectacular view of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. After lunch we continue on to the Old Otterbein United Methodist Church, the mother church of the United Brethren in Christ, and the oldest church edifice still standing in the city of Baltimore. Before departing for home, we conclude our day with a stop at Vaccaro’s Italian Pastry Shop, nestled in Baltimore’s historic Little Italy, to receive our “dessert boxes to go”! Note: Please wear comfortable shoes (no heels).
