Discover Southern Maryland
Hollywood & Solomons, MD
Start your adventure in Southern Maryland at Sotterley
Plantation, a National Historic Landmark built in 1717, where the Manor
House and adjoining gardens offer panoramic views of the Patuxent River. The
house is considered an architectural gem among the great houses of the
Chesapeake Bay, and the outbuildings reflect the plantation’s past as a working
tobacco plantation and a thriving colonial port of entry. Included are a
guided tour of the early 18th-century mansion, and a
self-guided tour of the garden, plus a rare original slave cabin and a
full array of outbuildings set amidst 95 acres of rolling fields and riverfront.
A lunch is included and served on the Mansion Portico where you
can relax and enjoy Sotterley’s magnificent vistas. Please provide a meal
choice when making your reservations. Your choices are Ham Sandwich,
Turkey Sandwich, Chicken Sandwich, Roast Beef Sandwich or Veggie Wrap.
After lunch we depart for the Calvert Marine Museum, a public,
non-profit, educational, regionally oriented museum dedicated to the collection,
preservation, research, and interpretation of the culture and natural history of
Southern Maryland. Explore the history, culture, and lighthouses of the
Chesapeake Bay and Patuxent River all in one place!
