Welcome Aboard! Travel
in comfort aboard our deluxe motor coach to the majestic White Mountains of
New Hampshire. After checking into the Common Man Inn & Spa for the
next three nights, we are treated to a delicious dinner at the
Inn’s restaurant. Foster’s Boiler Room, is literally built in and around
the old factory boiler rooms. This unique multi-level restaurant and lounge has
to be seen to be believed.
Day 2: After a hearty continental breakfast we
meet our step-on guide, and depart for a day of sightseeing. We
begin on board the M/S Mount Washington for a narrated sightseeing
cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire’s largest lake. Next we will
have some leisure time to explore the picturesque New England community of
Wolfeboro Village, and browse its many specialty shops and restaurants
before we continue onto Moultonborough, New Hampshire. The next stop of
the day will be a visit to Castle in the Clouds, for a self-guided
tourof the Mansion. The mansion reflects the natural splendor of
New Hampshire’s Ossipee Mountains and overlooks Lake Winnipesaukee. Our final
stop will be on board the Lake Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad for an
exciting excursion while dining on a delicious roast turkey dinner. The
relaxing train trip travels along the shores of the lake, and provides terrific
views of this sparkling lake and it’s summer cottages.
Day 3:
After a hearty
continental breakfast we meet our step-on guide, and depart for
another day of sightseeing. We begin on board the Loon Mountain
Gondola. We’ll ride New Hampshire’s longest sky ride to the summit for a
spectacular panoramic view! After our sky ride we continue onto Bretton
Woods, New Hampshire. Our narrated tour will take us through the
White Mountains from Franconia Notch to Mount Washington. Upon our arrival at
the Mount Washington Cog Railway, enjoy lunch onyour
own at the Base Station of Mt. Washington. Following lunch we will
embark on one of the world’s great railway adventures. You will enjoy
magnificent scenery, and marvel at the excitement of real steam locomotives in
action as we climb the tallest mountain in the Northeast. It’s an experience
like no other! After returning to the Inn, enjoy a delicious dinner on
your own at the Inn’s restaurant at your leisure.
Day 4: After a hearty continental breakfast we
depart for home with many fond memories of New England’s spectacular lake and
mountain scenery, and of our delightful railway adventures!
