July 18-21 (Sunday-Wednesday)
Cape Cod & Whale Watching
Hyannis, MA
Day 1: Welcome Aboard! Travel
in comfort aboard our deluxe motor coach to the sunny shores, spectacular
beaches, and breathtaking sunsets of Cape Cod. After checking into
the Hyannis Inn for the next three nights, we are treated to a
delicious dinner at a popular local restaurant. Located on Main Street in
the center of downtown Hyannis, the Inn is conveniently located within
walking distance to many shops and restaurants.
Day 2: After a full breakfast we meet our
step-on guide, and depart for a tour of Hyannis. Our tour includes a
photo-stop at the John F. Kennedy Memorial overlooking Lewis Bay, a drive
past the Kennedy Family Compound, a view of St. Francis Xavier Church, where the
Kennedy Family worships, and more. Next we embark on a historic tour along
scenic Old King’s Highway as we travel to Cape Cod’s Oldest Town, the
Village of Sandwich. Admission to the Sandwich Glass Museum is included.
En route we will see the Hoxie House, the oldest house on Cape Cod and the
Dexter Grist Mill on lovely Shawne Pond. A delicious lobster lunch is
included at Seafood Sam’s. After lunch we’ll conclude our day of touring
at Cape Cod Potato Chips with a factory tour. Following our return
to the Hyannis Inn, you will have some leisure time to sit, relax and experience
the comforts of the Inn. Bring your bathing suit and take advantage of the Inn’s
indoor swimming pool. Tonight enjoy dinner on your own at one of
the restaurants that is within walking distance of the Inn.
Day 3: After a full breakfast we meet our
step-on guide, and depart for a tour that takes us from Hyannis to
“land’s end” Provincetown, which is located at the tip of the Cape. We
will learn about the cranberry bogs, kettle ponds, “half-Cape” architecture, sea
captains and whaling, and the “Graveyard of Ships”. In the afternoon you will
have some leisure time to enjoy the lively street scene in this diverse
community with its gift shops, boutiques, galleries and restaurants. Lunch is
on your own. Next we join the Dolphin Fleet for our narrated whale
watching cruise as we head for the Stellwagen feeding bank in search of
these remarkable marine mammals. Witness the power, energy and majesty of
humpback and fin whales as they play and jump in the food-rich environment.
Before returning to the Inn, we conclude our day with a delicious dinner
at a popular local restaurant.
Day 4: After a full breakfast we depart for
home with fond memories of the Cape and our offshore adventures with the whales.
