Country Adventure
Enjoy this special cross country tour of a lifetime,
as we travel aboard our deluxe motor coach, from the East Coast to the West
Coast and back again. We have designed your tour to enchant, amaze, educate and
bring out your patriotism as we explore the places and institutions that make
America great! You will experience first hand the nations scenic beauty as we
visit Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California,
Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Missouri and Pennsylvania. Stops at several
perennial favorite attractions are included, and we will introduce some exciting
new ones. Included are Graceland, Clinton Library & Museum, Oklahoma City
National Memorial Museum, Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, Grand Canyon, Crystal
Cathedral, Queen Mary, Reagan Library & Museum, Hearst Castle, Hoover Dam, St.
Louis Arch, Duquesne Incline and The Nationality Rooms. Each day will
bring a new adventure, so sign up now for this celebration of America cross

Day 1: Welcome Aboard! Today we travel west aboard
our deluxe motor coach towards the west coast and California. We will
overnight in Knoxville, Tennessee. A dinner stop will be made en route to
Knoxville. Dinner is included.
Day 2: After a deluxe continental breakfast we
depart for Memphis, Tennessee, the home of the blues, and Graceland.
Highlights of our Graceland tour include visiting Elvis Presley’s
mansion, his original business office, his trophy building, and the Meditation
Garden where Elvis and members of his family have been laid to rest. We conclude
our tour of Graceland by boarding Elvis’ private jet, The Lisa Marie.
Before checking into our hotel for the night, we conclude our day with a
delicious southern-style dinner at Elvis’ Chrome Grille, an
automotive-theme atmosphere restaurant located at Graceland. We overnight in
Memphis, Tennessee.
Day 3: After a deluxe continental breakfast we
depart for Little Rock, Arkansas. Upon our arrival we will visit the
William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Library & Museum on the banks of the
Arkansas River. The visit will include a self-guided tour of the
museum. The library chronicles American history at the turn of the 21st-century,
and features exhibits that give a first hand look at the Clinton presidency.
Next we continue on to Fort Smith, Arkansas and visit Miss Laura’s
Visitor Center, a former bordello that now serves as the official Visitors
Center. We will enjoy a guided tour of this historic old “hotel,” but
don’t expect any old-fashioned hospitality. Later we depart for The
Lighthouse Inn for a delicious dinner and entertainment
provided by Miss Laura’s Players. We will overnight in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Day 4: After a deluxe continental breakfast we
depart for Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and visit the Oklahoma City
National Memorial & Museum. The memorial was created to honor those who were
killed, those who survived and those changed forever by the 1995 bombing of the
Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. Later we depart for the
Big Texan Steak Ranch for a delicious dinner. We will overnight in
Amarillo, Texas.
Day 5: After a deluxe continental breakfast we
depart for Cadillac Ranch. A collective of artists called Ant Farm
created this unique public sculpture to one of America’s most celebrated and
iconic automobiles, the Cadillac. The artist placed 10 Cadillac’s, ranging from
a 1949 Club Coupe to a 1963 Sedan, in a wheat field located west of Amarillo,
Texas. Be sure to bring your paint spray cans with you, as the purpose of this
monument is to let the audience participate in it. You can simply write down
your name, or if you have an inspiring message, leave it on one of the cars for
the other visitors to read (or to erase). Next we continue on to Albuquerque,
New Mexico. Upon our arrival we will enjoy a self-guided tour of
the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center. The 19 Pueblos of New Mexico, opened the
Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in August 1976 to showcase the history and
accomplishments of the Pueblo people from pre-Columbian to current time.
Thousands visit the center each year to experience the authentic history and
artifacts of traditional Pueblo cultures and their contemporary art. Before
checking into our hotel for the night, we conclude our day with a delicious
dinner at a popular local restaurant. We will overnight in Albuquerque,
New Mexico.
Day 6: After a deluxe continental breakfast
settle back, relax and enjoy the scenery on our drive to Williams, Arizona.
After checking into our accommodations at the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel
for the next two nights, we are treated to a delicious buffet dinner
at the hotel’s restaurant.
Day 7: After a buffet breakfast we board the
Grand Canyon Railway for “the ride of another lifetime.” Enjoy Arizona’s
beautiful scenery on this 5 hour round trip first class train ride from Williams
to just steps from the South rim of the Grand Canyon. During the train tour your
crew will enthusiastically share local and Grand Canyon folklore and history, as
well as the history of the Grand Canyon Railway itself. Strolling musicians on
board the train will let you know in song what was hot way back when. For thrill
seekers there is even fun recreations of an old fashioned shoot out and a train
robbery to experience. Upon our arrival at the South rim of the Grand Canyon
make the most of your time during the trains layover, and see the Grand Canyon
from different perspectives on your motor coach rim tour. Go where
automobiles can not. Our special Grand Canyon Tour will take us to select
reserved scenic overlooks with amazing vantage points only accessible by bus. A
buffet luncheon is included during your Grand Canyon Tour. Dinner is
on your own at the hotel’s restaurant at your leisure.
Day 8: After a buffet breakfast we depart for
Anaheim, California. Before we check into our hotel for the next two
nights we are treated to a delicious dinner. Enjoy a unique dining
experience in a charming restaurant that was originally a Gothic style Victorian
Baptist Church built in 1891.
Day 9: After a deluxe continental breakfast we
depart for The Crystal Cathedral. Upon our arrival we will meet our
guide and tour The Crystal Cathedral, the famous glass church in
California which is also the largest glass building in the world. The Cathedral
was built by the Rev. Robert Schuller and host a congregation of over 10,000
members and the internationally televised “Hour of Power,” and serves as the
home base for the international Crystal Cathedral Ministries. Following our tour
we depart for Long Beach, California. We will tour the historic Queen
Mary, the world’s most elegant ocean liner. The tour will include a
luncheon and a guided tour of the ship. Learn about her fascinating
history while visiting areas not accessible to the general public. After
returning to our hotel you will have leisure time to sit, relax and enjoy the
hotel’s amenities or visit Disneyland Resort which is conveniently located
within walking distance of the hotel. Bring your bathing suit to take advantage
of the hotel’s outdoor pool. Dinner is on your own at one of the
many restaurants that is within walking distance of the hotel.
Day 10: After a deluxe continental breakfast
we depart for Los Angeles, California. Upon our arrival we meet our
step-on guide, and depart for a narrated driving tour of Los Angeles.
Our tour will include the towering skyscrapers of downtown Los Angeles, the
famous Chinese Theatre with its courtyard full of celebrity hand-prints and
footprints, see glamorous Rodeo Drive lined with some of the world’s most
exclusive shops and more! Next we continue on to Simi Valley, California
and visit the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum. The tour
will include a delicious luncheon and a guided tour of the museum.
We will learn first hand about the legacy of the man who came to be known as
“the great communicator.” Following our tour we will depart for Buellton,
California. We check into our accommodations at the Marriott, which
is nestled in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley’s wine country, for the next
two nights. Enjoy dinner on your own at one of the fine
restaurants located at the Marriott.
Day 11: After a deluxe continental breakfast
you are free to design your day and do as you please! We will provide
transportation to Solvang, California, a vibrant community with the
distinct European ambiance of a Danish village filled with charming stores and
bakeries that beckon you. You are in wine country so why not visit some of the
areas world-class wineries. If California history intrigues you, visit one of
California’s major historic Missions built in 1801. Or you may choose to relax
and pamper yourself by taking advantage of the hotel’s facilities which include
an outdoor swimming pool and whirlpool, a fitness center, a day spa, sauna/steam
rooms, massage and hair & nail salon and much, much more. Dinner is on
your own at one of the hotel’s restaurants at your leisure.
Day 12: After a deluxe continental breakfast
we depart for San Simeon, California. Upon our arrival we will meet our
guide and tour Hearst Castle. The tour will include a broad
overview of the Castle, highlighting the Casa Grande - or “main house”,
including five rooms on the ground floor. Next you will tour through Casa del
Sol, the 18-room guesthouse that faces the stunning Pacific Coastline. You will
also explore the Esplanade and Gardens along the Neptune and Roman Pools.
Following our tour we continue on to San Francisco, California, traveling
along one of the most scenic and rugged coastlines of California. Bring your
camera for some spectacular photo opportunities! After checking into our
accommodations at the Holiday Inn Express at Fisherman’s Wharf, for the
next two nights, we are treated to a delicious dinner at
Fisherman’s Wharf.
Day 13: After a deluxe continental breakfast
we meet our step-on guide, and depart for a narrated driving tour of
San Francisco. Our tour will include Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf, Victorian
homes, Presidio National Park, and much more! We will stop at Twin Peaks with
breathtaking hilltop panoramic views of the City (weather permitting),
City Hall, Golden Gate Park, and more! Later we will visit the quaint
Mediterranean-style village of Sausalito, considered the prettiest city
in California. Enjoy some leisure time strolling along the waterfront taking in
the great views of the Bay, snap some photos, explore the shops and do some
shopping before we ferry back to San Francisco. The Society of
American Travel Writers has ranked the Sausalito to San Francisco ferry
excursion the second best in the world, just behind their No. 1 pick - the Star
Ferry ride in the waters off Hong Kong. Tonight enjoy dinner on your own
at one of the many restaurants that is located within walking distance
of the hotel.
Day 14: After a deluxe continental breakfast
settle back, relax and enjoy the scenery on our drive to Las Vegas, Nevada,
the exciting “Playground of the West.” Our accommodations for the next two
nights are at the Excalibur Casino & Hotel, located on the famous Las
Vegas strip. Tonight enjoy dinner on your own, plus the excitement
of all of the best table games and slot machines. Good Luck!
Day 15: After breakfast we depart along the winding
and breathtaking road to Hoover Dam, one of the world’s most amazing
engineering marvels. Your two hour visit will provide you plenty of time to
explore the dam and take in the Power Plant Tour. Check out the museum
and the exhibit areas, the power plant 500 feet down, and watch a movie on the
dam’s construction. A visitor’s center provides opportunities to learn more
about the dam, offers views of Lake Mead, and a gift shop to simply browse or
buy a souvenir or two. We return to our casino hotel in time for lunch and
dinner on your own. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.
Day 16: After breakfast we depart for Zion
National Park. Upon our arrival we will visit Zion National Park,
said to be one of the most beautiful places in America, a masterpiece of
towering cliffs with deep red canyons, mesas and massive monoliths. A delicious
lunch is included at Zion Lodge’s Red Rock Grill & Castle Dome Café.
Following our tour we depart for our overnight accommodations in Bryce
Canyon, Utah. A delicious buffet dinner is included at the hotel’s
restaurant.
Day 17: After a deluxe continental breakfast
we depart for a tour of Bryce Canyon National Park. View the erosion that
has carved colorful Claron limestone into thousands of spires, fins, arches and
mazes. Collectively called “hoodoos,” these unique formations are whimsically
arranged and tinted with colors too numerous and subtle to name. Before we
continue on to our overnight accommodations in Grand Junction, Colorado,
we will first enjoy a delicious lunch at the Bryce Canyon Lodge. A
dinner stop will be made en route to Grand Junction. Dinner is on your own.
Day 18: After a deluxe continental breakfast
we depart for Golden, Colorado. We will drive up to Lookout Mountain
for a spectacular view of Denver’s skyline and to visit the Buffalo Bill
Museum & Grave. We’ll visit the one, and the only, grave of William F.
“Buffalo Bill” Cody. By his request, Buffalo Bill was buried on Lookout Mountain
in 1917, overlooking the Great Plains and the Rockies. Next we continue on to
Denver, Colorado and visit the Molly Brown House Museum, the
long-time home of Titanic’s most famous survivor. The museum showcases Brown’s
opulent 1889 home with all the modern conveniences, including electricity,
central heat and in-door plumbing. You’ll also hear the fascinating tales of
Molly Brown’s incredible life, from instant mining-town wealth, to labor reform
and the stages of New York. Following our tour we will depart for a delicious
dinner at a popular local restaurant. We will overnight in Denver,
Colorado.
Day 19: After a deluxe continental breakfast
we depart for Topeka, Kansas. We will enjoy a delicious dinner at
the Brickyard Barn Inn, en route to our overnight accommodations in
Lawrence, Kansas.
Day 20: After a deluxe continental breakfast
we are off to the fun-loving town of Branson, Missouri, the home to
exciting and fabulous live shows. After checking into our hotel accommodations
at the Cascades Inn, located on Shepherd of the Hills Expressway, for the
next two nights, we are treated to a delicious dinner. After
dinner enjoy an evening of entertainment at the Pierce Arrow Theatre,
Branson’s hottest show!
Day 21: After breakfast and dinner
included today, enjoy a day of spectacular shows of some of Branson’s top

Day 22: After breakfast we depart for St.
Louis, Missouri. Upon our arrival we will visit the St. Louis Arch. A
visit to the Gateway Arch Riverfront would not be complete without riding to the
top of the 630-foot-tall Arch. The Arch is the highest point in downtown St.
Louis, and from the observation deck at the top you will be treated to
spectacular panoramic views of St. Louis and the Mississippi River. Following
our tour we depart for our overnight accommodations in Indianapolis, Indiana.
A dinner stop will be made en route to Indianapolis. Dinner is on your own.
Day 23: After a deluxe continental breakfast
we depart for “The Steel Making Capitol of the World,” Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. After checking into our hotel accommodations for the night, we
will spend a leisurely evening aboard the Gateway Clipper Fleet. Enjoy a
delicious dinner, music, and the majesty of Pittsburgh from your dinner
cruise on the city’s Three Rivers.
Day 24: After a deluxe continental breakfast
we meet our step-on guide, and depart for a tour of Pittsburgh
that includes a ride on the Duquesne Incline to the top of Mt.
Washington. There you will thrill at the view of downtown Pittsburgh, which
USA Weekend ranked as the second best view in America! We conclude our tour
with a visit to The Nationality Rooms at the University of Pittsburgh.
Located in the inspiring Cathedral of Learning on the Pit campus, each of these
26 classrooms reflects the culture and heritage of one of the area’s diverse
ethnic groups, and represents that nationality’s contribution to the fabric of
Pittsburgh. Following lunch on your own we depart for home having
enjoyed the fellowship of friends old and new on our 2010 Cross Country
Adventure, and taking with us many wonderful memories, pictures, post cards and
souvenirs!
