Day 1: Welcome Aboard! Travel
in comfort aboard our deluxe motor coach to the resort town of Boothbay
Harbor, Maine, “the boating capital of New England.” After checking into the
Rocktide Inn, a waterfront hotel which is located on the East side of
beautiful Boothbay Harbor for the next two nights, we are treated to a
delicious dinner at the hotel’s restaurant. The Inn is conveniently
located within 100 feet of the famous Boothbay Harbor Footbridge, and is a short
walking distance from the center of town.
Day 2: After a buffet breakfast we “harbor
hop” to the postcard town of Camden, Maine, “the windjammer tall ship
capital of Maine.” Upon our arrival we will meet our step-on guide and
depart for a narrated driving tour of Camden. Included on our tour is a
photo-stop at the summit of Mount Battie with its breathtaking view of
Penobscot Bay. In the afternoon, surrounded by the towns unique maritime
atmosphere evoking a bygone era, you will have leisure time to stroll the
stately tree lined streets of Camden and explore some of its historic homes.
Later we return to Boothbay Harbor for a delightful harbor cruise. Relax
and enjoy the 90-minute cruise, which takes us past beautiful summer homes,
picturesque lighthouses, small islands, snug coves, and offers us the
opportunity to view seals in their natural habitat on rock ledges. Before
returning to the Inn, we conclude our day with a traditional lobster or
steak dinner at a downtown waterside restaurant.
Day 3: Enjoy a buffet breakfast at your
leisure. With part of the morning free you may wish to go for a walk along the
waterfront, and investigate the alleyway shops and visit the colorful cafes.
Later we depart for Kennebunkport, Maine, where we will meet our
step-on guide, and depart for a narrated driving tour. Points of
interest on our tour will include viewing the Sea Colonial Mansions, “Walker’s
Point”, the Bush’s summer home, and a special photo-stop at the Wedding Cake
House. Following our tour enjoy exploring this beautiful coastal town with
its galleries and shops, before we continue on to Ogunquit, Maine, called
“the beautiful place by the sea.” After checking into the Meadowmere Resort
