Virginia Plantation & D.C. Gardens
Mason Neck, VA & Washington, D.C.
(Maximum 47 Passengers)

Start your adventure in Fairfax County, Virginia at Gunston Hall Plantation, a 550-acre National Historic Landmark built in the 1750’s. Included is a guided tour of the early 17th-century mansion. With it’s elaborate interior design and carvings, the Manor House is considered an architectural gem. Later take a self-guided tour of the plantations gardens, and a group of reconstructed buildings which include a kitchen, dairy, smokehouse, and laundry. Enjoy the view of the Potomac River from Mason’s garden overlook, or you may wish to take a peaceful hike down to the banks of the Potomac. A box lunch is included at Gunston Hall. Following our lunch we depart for Washington, D.C. and the National Arboretum Gardens. A tram tour which highlights the 446-acres of the U.S. National Arboretum’s gardens, collections and natural areas is included. During the 35-minute non-stop ride, you will hear an informative, taped narrative about the Arboretum, its history, mission, and research, and the display gardens and collections. Afterwards, enjoy a leisurely stroll around the gardens, viewing what is currently in bloom or of special interest, and don’t forget to visit the gift shop before we depart for home.
