Day 1: Welcome Aboard! Travel in comfort aboard our deluxe motor coach to Savannah, Georgia, “the Belle of Georgia”. We overnight in Santee, South Carolina. Dinner is on your own. There is a Cracker Barrel restaurant which is conveniently located within walking distance of the hotel.

Day 2: After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for Savannah, Georgia. Upon our arrival we will meet our step-on guide, and depart for a tour of historic Savannah. Included on our tour is a visit to the Owens-Thomas Historic House Museum. Next experience southern charm first-hand while strolling along River Street, a quaint cobblestone-paved street where old cotton warehouses have been converted into shops, taverns and restaurants. This afternoon we take a cruise to view Savannah’s local dolphins. More than your “average” dolphin tour, you will learn about and see marshes, crabs, pelicans and of course dolphins. While on the water enjoy the unique beauty of Georgia’s coastal scenery and the wildlife found in the low country marshes. Tonight we are treated to a delicious dinner in a restored cotton warehouse overlooking the Savannah River after checking into our hotel for the next two nights.

Day 3: After breakfast we depart for Jekyll Island. Upon our arrival we will board a sightseeing tram for a captivating and history filled tour of the island. See where and how some of the nation’s wealthiest citizens like J.P. Morgan and William Rockefeller lived and played. A delicious lunch is included at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel. Later we will take a guided tour of St. Simons Island. View the famous moss covered oaks while listening to delightful stories of these barrier islands. After returning to our hotel in Savannah you will have leisure time to sit, relax and enjoy dinner on your own at the hotel’s restaurant at your leisure.

Day 4: After breakfast we depart for Charleston, South Carolina. See for yourself why Charleston has been deemed the “charm spot of the south.” Upon our arrival we will meet our step-on guide, and depart for a tour of historic Charleston. Included on our tour is a visit to the Joseph Manigault Historic House Museum. This afternoon we take a boat cruise to Fort Sumter, the island fort where the Civil War began. We are treated to a delicious dinner at a popular local restaurant before checking into our hotel for the next two nights.

Day 5: After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for Magnolia Plantation & Gardens, recognized as one of America’s finest and most beautifully maintained plantations. To provide you with the best possible tour experience we will view a 22-minute introductory film on the plantation and gardens, and be given a narrated tram tour of the various gardens. Following lunch on your own you are free to design your afternoon and do as you wish! You may choose to explore the Old City Market, where more than 100 vendors sell everything from local foods to souvenirs, stroll around Charleston’s historic district, visit the Gibbes Museum of Art, or enjoy a carriage tour that allows a close-up view of the beautiful homes along the Battery Area of Charleston. Later we will return to our hotel where you will have some time to sit, relax and freshen up before going out for a delicious dinner at Hyman’s Seafood Restaurant.
