At the Eisenhower National Historic Site
celebrate Christmas in the tradition of Gettysburg’s First Family. The
Eisenhower’s home is decorated as it was during their presidential years in the
1950’s complete with poinsettias, boughs of pine and holly, a Christmas tree
surrounded by presents, and the dining room table set for Christmas dinner with
the Eisenhower Wedgwood china and silver. In the living room, park rangers
regale visitors with stories of Eisenhower Christmas’ past, while holiday music
from the Eisenhower’s album collection provides background accompaniment.
Original Eisenhower decorations are on display in the home, and Eisenhower
Christmas cards are on exhibit in the Reception Center. A delicious family
style luncheon (baked ham and roast turkey), is included at Hickory
Bridge Farm. After lunch we return to Gettysburg where a Gettysburg
National Military Park Licensed Guide will bring history to life for you
through insightful and expert narration as we travel the hallowed historic
battlefields surrounding Gettysburg. Happy Holidays!
