Haunted Cape May
Cape May, NJ
Did you hear something go bump in the night?
Did you sense someone sitting beside you only to realize there was no one
there? Your guided trolley ride through gas-lit streets takes you past many
Cape May houses with paranormal activity documented by psychic medium and
ghost writer Craig McManus, and then on to the Physick Estate, where your
guide will talk about the ghostly residents there and explore the
Victorian era’s fascination with spiritualism, and how it differed from today’s
“ghost hunters.” Enjoy a Tea Luncheon in the Carriage House or under the
festive tent in the Garden Patio. Delicious tea sandwiches, scones,
tea breads, soups and salads and much more will be
traditionally served in an elegant manner typical of the Victorians. As you are
finishing your meal, listen and learn about some of the bizarre spiritualist
beliefs popular during the Victorian era such as mediums, seances,
apparitions, ectoplasmic, emissions, levitation, and clairvoyance and their
practitioners. Also reviewed is mesmerism and phrenology. After lunch, feel
free to browse the Physick Estate’s museum gift shop or view the
Carriage House gallery exhibit. Rest stops will be made both en route to
Cape May and on the return trip home.
