Chestertown Tea Party Festival

Chestertown, MD

In celebration of colonial resistance against British rule, Chestertown, on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, holds its Annual Tea Party Festival.  The re-enactment of the dumping of British tea on May 23, 1774 into the Chester River is the focal point of the Tea Party Festival.  All festival events take place in the historic district of 18th century Chestertown along the majestic Chester River.  Over 120 expert craftspeople, from blacksmiths and candle makers, to weavers and woodworkers will display their wares and demonstrate their crafts.  Food booths will offer a wide variety of Eastern Shore delicacies, such as Maryland crab cakes, barbeque, fish, clams and much more!  All day there will be free entertainment to enjoy.  Have a meal, on your own, before we depart for home.
