Ghosts, Witches & Gravestones
Coastal New England
Day 1:
Welcome Aboard! Are you ready for a chilling,
thrilling, and frightening ghostly tour that will keep you smiling throughout
our weekend get-a-way to coastal New England? Upon arrival at our hotel for the
night we are treated to a welcome reception, followed by a delicious
dinner. Later we step into Nautical Nightmares. At Mystic
Seaport, experience the “Age of Sail” with a twist. We begin with a boat
ride along the village’s shore, followed by a visit to the Mystic Seaport
Museum to hear the stories and lore of the spirits, mysterious events, and
unexplained misfortunes that occurred in this New England sea-side community.
Day 2:
After a deluxe continental breakfast we
depart for Newport, Rhode Island, home to the incredible Belcourt
Castle, a magnificent Louis XIII Gilded Age style mansion. Our tour
guide recounts the rich history of the home, which includes scandal, wealth
and sightings of resident spirits. Next you will have some time to explore and
shop at the seaside Brick Marketplace before we continue onto the
Lizzie Borden House. Relive the 1892 murders of the Borden family, as
you tour this Victorian home turned B&B. We continue onto Boston
for a delicious dinner at an area restaurant, followed by Boston’s
Premier Ghost and Graveyard Tour, guided by our own personal 17th Century
Gravedigger. Hear stories of the city’s gravest moments, it’s most ghoulish
individual’s, Boston’s burying grounds, and all things shadowy and sinister
presented with a dose of good humor. We arrive at our suburban Boston hotel for
the next two nights.
Day 3:
After a deluxe continental breakfast we
depart for a windshield tour of Cape Ann with our step-on guide.
Discover the bewitching city of Salem, and Gloucester with its famous Gloucester
Fisherman statue, the Mansions that dot the coastline, and learn about the witch
hysteria that overtook Salem in the 17th century. Next we visit the Salem
Witch Museum and relive the hysteria of the famous 1692 Witch Trials. This
afternoon the Bewitching Village of Salem comes alive during Salem’s
Haunted Happenings. Enjoy the fun-filled festivities which include haunted
houses, psychic readers, entertainment, eateries, and museums.
Tonight we’ll visit Spirit of the Gables at
House of Seven Gables, Nathaniel Hawthorne’s home, and one of the most
legendary structures in America. Witness the cursed spirits that haunt this
historic mansion. Encounter Hawthorne’s tormented characters as they bring to
life the curse driven by guilt, greed, and revenge.
Day 4:
After a deluxe continental breakfast
settle back, and enjoy a scary movie on our drive home, and take with you
haunting memories of our ghostly weekend get-a-way.
