Lipizzan Stallions in Vermont

St. Albans, VT

Day 1: Welcome Aboard!  Enjoy the breathtaking scenery along every turn of the highway to St. Albans, Vermont.  For the next three nights we are the guest at the La Quinta Inn, which is located just minutes from Lake Champlain in the heart of the “Maple Sugar Capitol of the World.”  Bring your bathing suit to take advantage of the hotel’s indoor swimming pool.

Day 2: After a deluxe continental breakfast we meet our step-on guide, and depart for the Vermont Teddy Bear Company.  You will get a behind-the scenes tour of the factory, and learn how the beautiful bears are made.  Our next stop is picturesque Stowe Village.  You will have some time to explore and shop in this quaint Vermont village with its “most photographed church steeple”, and award winning recreation path.  Later we travel to the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory for a guided tour, that includes a tasting of the flavor of the day.  This evening we board the Spirit of Ethan Allen III for a delicious sunset lobster dinner cruise with live entertainment.

Day 3: After a deluxe continental breakfast we meet our step-on guide, and depart for a tour of the Lake Champlain Islands.  Located at the most Northwestern part of Vermont, the islands are known for having the oldest coral reef in the world.  A brief stop will be made at the site where Samuel de Champlain discovered Vermont in 1609, and where now stands St. Anne Shrine on Lake Champlain, an outdoor center of Life, Light and Love.  Also en route we will make periodic stops to give you the opportunity to take scenic photos, visit a local winery, and pick up your box lunch.  Later we arrive at Knights Point State Park, a 55-acre preserve with a sandy beach, nature trails, and a picnic area to enjoy your lunch before attending the Lipizzan Stallions Show.  World famous for their equestrian ballet, the   dancing white stallions have thrilled audiences with their grace and elegance for decades!  We conclude our day at Allenholm Farm.  Learn about this family farm and the variety of animals they raise including donkeys, a scotch-highland cow, a haflinger draft horse, sheep, rabbits, a miniature horse, goat kids and chickens.  Also visit the Farm Store, and enjoy an entertaining tractor drawn wagon ride through the orchards.  Tonight you will be treated to a delicious dinner

Day 4: After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for home with memories of these majestic animals and the fresh Vermont air.
