Hudson Valley Adventure

Day 1: Welcome Aboard!  Today we journey into the Hudson River Valley of New York.  Upon arrival we meet our step-on guide and tour the Franklin D. Roosevelt Home and Library.  This lifelong home of FDR contains extensive displays of the life and careers of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt.  We check into the Holiday Inn Kingston just a few blocks from the Uptown Historic District for two nights, complete with a welcome reception, followed by a delicious dinner.

Day 2: After a full buffet breakfast we meet our step-on guide, and depart for Wilderstein.  We enjoy a tour of this Queen Anne Mansion, home of Daisy Suckley, closest champion of FDR.  A delicious lunch is included at the Culinary Institute of America, dedicated to providing the world’s best professional culinary education.  After lunch, we tour the Frederic Vanderbilt Mansion, the spring and fall home of Frederick Vanderbilt.  The home’s architecture reminds one of a French chateau with Italian gardens, and the views of the Hudson are spectacular.  We return to the Culinary Institute of America for a tour by one of the culinary students.  This evening we are treated to a delicious dinner at a restaurant where we enjoy some great local flavor before returning to the hotel.                       

Day 3: After a full buffet breakfast we meet our step-on guide, and depart for West Point, home of our nation’s oldest service academy.  Enjoy a tour of the Academy to include Trophy Point and Cadet Chapel.  This afternoon board The Pride of the Hudson for a cruise on the majestic Hudson River.  Your cruise will include a box lunch.  After our cruise we depart for home taking with us memories of scenic and historic Upstate New York.
