Charleston, SC Spring Special

Day 1: Welcome Aboard!  See for yourself why Charleston, South Carolina has been deemed the “charm spot of the south.”  We check into the Springhill Suites by Marriott nestled on the banks of the scenic Ashley River, and conveniently located just minutes from Charleston’s Downtown Historic District for the next four nights.  This evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at a favorite restaurant in the historic district.          

Day 2: After a deluxe continental breakfast we meet our step-on guide, and depart for a tour of Historic Charleston.  Along the way, we learn the history about the many historic homes and restored buildings, including the Joseph Manigault Historic House Museum.  This afternoon is at your leisure to explore the city.  History is literally found around every corner in this fascinating city, which is often referred to as a “living museum.”  The City Market is a must for shoppers, and the curious alike.     

Day 3: After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for Savannah, Georgia.  Upon arrival, we’ll meet our step-on guide, and enjoy a tour of Historic Savannah, including the Owens-Thomas Historic House Museum.  Experience southern charm first-hand with a stroll along the cobblestone-paved River Street, where old cotton warehouses have been converted into shops, taverns, and restaurants.  This afternoon we tour some of Tybee Island sites (Lighthouse & Fort Screven), plus a visit to the Byrd Cookie Company for scrumptious cookie samples, fresh lemonade, and gourmet shopping.  This evening, experience gracious hospitality when you enjoy a fine dinner in a beautiful old cotton warehouse on historic River Street before returning to Charleston.            

Day 4: After a deluxe continental breakfast our morning tour begins at one of America’s finest, most beautifully maintained plantations, the Magnolia Plantation & Gardens.  Our visit includes a tram tour of the various gardens.  This afternoon we take a boat cruise to Fort Sumter, the island fort where the Civil War began.  Enjoy a delicious seafood dinner near the City Market, a popular eatery with local Charleston residents.   

Day 5: After a deluxe continental breakfast we depart for home with your memories of true southern hospitality.
